Afghanistan is known as the graveyard of empires. Many nations over the course of history have tried to subdue this piece of land. What makes Afghanistan so challenging. The terrain?, The tribes? The customs? This book is a fictional accounting of the conquest of Afghanistan by Alexander the Great told by one of his soldiers. It is a fascinating look into history. But more than that it is an interesting story depicting the intersection of western culture with Afghan culture which may shed light on our own Afghan campaign.
