Book #8: John Adams, David McCullough
John Adams was one of the most influential founders and is probably the more easily forgotten. Besides his letters, he is not remembered for authoring any founding documents. But historical his mind, patriotic zeal and fiery personality made him a driving force in American independence. Adams and his political personality made him friends and enemies. But he played an indispensable role in the formation and early cultivation of the country that we now cherish. This is an excellent biography of the man who probably fought the hardest despite insurmountable odds for independence.
