Book #17: Duty: Memoirs of a Secretary at War, Robert Gates
Compelled by a sense of duty for his country, Bob Gates accepts the call of George W. Bush to become secretary of defense. This book is a memoir of his time in office and explores the joys of serving the military in contrast to the frustrations of buricratic and legislative gridlock that would seek to prevent the military from being successful at war. It is a great read if you are interested in learning more about the latter half of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
