Book #3: Deep Survival: Who Lives, Who Dies, and Why, Lawrence Gonzales
Why is it that in the face of harrowing situations some people survive and some succumb to their fate? In this book, Lawrence Gonzales seeks to explain his lifelong study: what makes one a survivor. This is an interesting look into the mindset of survivor and various philosophies of the workings of the universe. However, it is written from a naturalistic perspective. And despite a brief description of fate as a yin-yang between chaos theory and complexity theory, the author completely ignores the idea of a sovereign God who ultimately is in control the universe.
